Our Studio
Our state-of-the-art Digital Music Studio is a creative space designed for up to 5 participants at a time. Equipped with industry-standard software and hardware, the studio includes:
- Ableton Live Suite for professional music production
- MIDI keyboards to compose and perform digital instruments
- Microphones for high-quality vocal and instrumental recording
- Studio recording and mixing equipment to refine and finalise tracks
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, our studio provides the tools and environment to explore, create, and produce music with confidence.

Spring 2025 Digital Music Competition – Results Announced
Our Spring 2025 Composition, Arranging, and Mastering Competition has officially come to a close. The theme was Cinematic Composition for Film and TV, and we were blown away by the creativity and quality of the entries submitted.
Competition was intense, and although we could only award three winners with studio time at HQ Recording, we are incredibly proud of every participant who took part.

We are delighted to showcase our three winners below:
1st Place - Alien War March
Taking the top spot is a bold and imaginative composition that transported us straight into the heart of an epic sci-fi battle. Alien War March blends futuristic sound design with a commanding sense of rhythm, creating a cinematic experience full of tension, movement, and scale.
Packed with unique textures and otherworldly tones, this track stood out for its creativity, production quality, and storytelling power. A truly cinematic soundscape worthy of first place.

2nd Place - Nightclub Queue
Congratulations to our second-place winner Nightclub Queue, whose track masterfully captured the energy and anticipation of a movie scene set outside a bustling nightclub.
From the tense build-up in the queue to the euphoric drop as the doors open, their composition immerses the listener in a vibrant, cinematic moment. A powerful mix of rhythm, atmosphere, and storytelling through sound – a truly standout entry.
Well done on creating a piece that feels ready for the big screen.
3rd Place - Night Walkers
Earning third place is Night Walkers, a haunting and suspenseful piece that masterfully builds a sense of dread and anticipation. With its brooding tones, eerie textures, and slow-burning intensity, this track feels like the perfect score for a tense, late-night chase scene or psychological thriller.
Its atmospheric depth and cinematic pacing drew us in and held us there—an impressive achievement in mood and storytelling through sound.
