Building Resilient Communities with E2 Food Bank
Are you or someone you know in Leicester struggling with the cost-of-living crisis? E2’s Building Resilient Communities programme offers free food parcels, food vouchers, digital skills training, and mental health support. Our goal is to provide practical help while empowering you with tools to achieve financial stability and independence.
Free Food Parcels Every Thursday
Visit the Beaumont Lodge Neighbourhood Centre in Leicester every Thursday from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm to collect free food parcels. In addition to immediate food support, E2 provides training and resources to help you build skills and confidence.
How the Programme Works
E2 combines emergency food aid with long-term support to help you improve your situation:
Step 1: Immediate Food Support
- You’ll get food vouchers to collect food parcels that meet your immediate needs.
- To continue receiving food parcels, you’ll need to enrol in one of our free courses designed to improve your skills and stability.
Step 2: Personalised Guidance and Training
- Meet with an Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) Worker at the E2 Community Hub.
- Attend an IAG course (online or in person) to receive tailored support and weekly food vouchers for up to six months.
Step 3: Build Digital Skills with Digital Life
We’ll help you:
- Create and manage financial spreadsheets.
- Write a professional CV and apply for jobs or benefits online.
- Learn basics like email communication and video calls.
Step 4: Mental Health Support
Strengthen your mental well-being with:
- Weekly sessions with a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist.
- Group therapy for small groups (80% of sessions).
- Individual therapy for specific needs (20% of sessions).
Referrals are provided by the IAG Adviser to match the right support to your needs.
