Alana Hall is currently a third-year student studying psychology at De Monfort University and works as a part-time bar worker. Since January Alana has been volunteering as a Community Tutor, delivering IT computer sessions to local residents here at E2.
When we asked Alana why she chose to volunteer she said "I found out about E2 through the De Montfort University volunteering scheme. Being at the end of my time studying in Leicester I wanted to get more involved in the community to help out and get to know people. My experience at E2 has been rewarding. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and I have had the opportunity to work with many different people from Beaumont Leys. I would recommend volunteering to anyone. It's a great opportunity to get involved and help those who need it, whilst also growing as an individual"
Alana plans to continue volunteering throughout the summer before she graduates and begins her Masters degree later this year, she hopes to continue growing from her experiences of volunteering to prepare her for her future career. Everyone at E2 thanks Alana for all her hard work and wish her good luck in the future.
Martin, our CEO, congratulated Alana and said "We know that where ever she ends up next she will continue to make a difference in the community".
